Von 2016 bis 2022 war er Mitglied des Kuratoriums der Fazit-Stiftung, die über 90 % an der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung hält. Diese verließ er, nachdem Vorwürfe verdeckter Lobbyarbeit Haucaps für den Konzern Uber öffentlich wurden. Seit 2019 ist er federführender Herausgeber der Perspektiven der Wirtschaftspolitik.
