She is the co-founder of AlterContacts, the Think Tank for Sustainable Development. In 2020 she launched the Lockdown Economy, the United Nations registered nonprofit grassroots movement to help small businesses and self-employed overcome the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. In June 2021, Julia presented the insights from the Lockdown Economy at the United Nations Conference on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
