Die so beschriebenen Zufallsmatrizen gehören zu einem Ginibre-Ensemble. 1970 gab er eine Verallgemeinerung der Ungleichungen von Robert Griffiths (Ginibre-Ungleichung). Griffiths hatte seine Ungleichungen 1967 ursprünglich für Korrelationen im Ising-Modell des Ferromagnetismus formuliert.
