Francesco Pontone (30 March 1927 – 2 July … Francesco Pontone (30 March 1927 – 2 July 2019) was an Italian politician. He has been a Senator from 1987 to 2013 and served as Undersecretary for of Industry, Commerce and Craftsmanship in the Berlusconi I government. Pontone was a member of the Italian Social Movement, of National Alliance (of which he was treasurer) and of The People of Freedom. In 2010 he joined the new Future and Freedom party of Gianfranco Fini, but in 2011 he returned to the PdL. He died in 2019 at the age of 92.the PdL. He died in 2019 at the age of 92.

Negli anni sessanta aderisce alle organizzazioni giovanili universitarie della destra poi al MSI-DN, eletto consigliere comunale nel 1975, guidò l'opposizione della destra all'amministrazione del sindaco comunista Maurizio Valenzi, nel 1980 fu eletto consigliere della Campania e poi segretario regionale. Nel 2004, ha presentato al Senato della Repubblica, commissione Affari costituzionali, la proposta di istituire quale festività civile nazionale la Festa dei nonni, che diventò ufficiale a tutti gli effetti dall'anno successivo con la Legge n. 159 del 31 luglio 2005. Pontone è stato Tesoriere di Alleanza Nazionale. Tesoriere di An per anni e amico di Gianfranco Fini. Il 2 agosto 2010 abbandona il PdL per fondare Futuro e Libertà per l'Italia.
