Their beginning dates to the Fall of 1966, when they adopted the Scottish theme to complement the town's namesake, Dundee, Scotland. They entered their first Summer of band competition in 1967, winning third place in class AAA at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In the Summer of 1968 the Scots won another third place at the V.F.W.
