The surname Cabret or Cabrit was carried by several people, including Jewish physician from Perpignan (15th century) or military chieftain , and is said to come from the Catalan cabrit (goat) or the mountain, in Roses, Catalonia.oat) or the mountain, in Roses, Catalonia.
