The Antillean Adventist University (AAU) ( … The Antillean Adventist University (AAU) (in Spanish: Universidad Adventista de las Antillas) (UAA) is a private, Seventh-day Adventist university in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system.The university developed from the merging of two educational institutions: Puerto Rico Academy established in 1946; renamed in 1957 as the Colegio Adventista Puertorriqueño, and Antillian College which moved to Puerto Rico as a result of the Cuban Revolution. In 1989, the school's higher education program was accredited by the Council of Higher Education of Puerto Rico on August 18, 1989. The university is sponsored by and affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and is situated within 284 acres (1.1 km²) of mountainous land with a view of the Atlantic Ocean. La universidad surgió desde la fusión de dos instituciones educativas en Puerto Rico y Cuba: el Colegio Adventista Puertorriqueño (CAP) establecido en 1957 (cuando se trasladó a una nueva escuela residencial en Mayagüez el nivel secundario del "Puerto Rico Adventist Academy" fundado originalmente en 1946 en Santurce como la primera escuela completa primaria y secundaria de la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día en Puerto Rico), y el Colegio de las Antillas que fue movido a Puerto Rico a raíz de la Revolución Cubana. En mayo de 1961 el Colegio Adventista Puertorriqueño recibió autorización para ofrecer los programas a nivel universitario que se habían ofrecido en el Colegio de las Antillas en Santa Clara, Cuba. En septiembre de 1961 se cambia al nombre de Colegio Antillano de Puerto Rico y en marzo de 1962, el nombre le fue cambiado por el de Antillean College (AC). El 18 de agosto de 1989, el Consejo de Educación Superior de Puerto Rico le autorizó el nuevo nombre de Universidad Adventista de las Antillas acreditando sus programas de educación subgraduada al nivel de bachillerato universitario. Desde el 18 de noviembre del 2021 la Universidad Adventista de las Antillas pasó a llamarse Antillean University. La universidad es patrocinada y pertenece a la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día, y está ubicada dentro de 284 acres (1.1 km²) de tierra montañosa con una vista del Océano Atlántico.
