And with rebound
, His house and pelt
, Destruction on the road that runs–
, Black as night without a star
, Thank God, they're safe! One did debar
, Rattled around
, Drove creatures mad in Chappaqua
, Over the vale of Chappaqua
, Forget himself,
, Tornadoes pass,
, Impressed him so it made him clean
, Or carriage, on the road the runs,
, The awful grandeur of the scene
, Where with his wife and little ones,
, And then great hailstones from the skies
, His horse did stop
, A man was driving in his car,
, Came pitchy darkness on men's eyes,
, In the valley, aye, of Chappaqua.
, To him, his wife and little ones.
, And all his goods in Chappaqua
, On mountaintop–
, Green grows the grass
